With the number of 10,000 COVID-19 new cases every day, Is Lockdown to Return from June 15 in India? Social media messaging apps and the related platform is abuzz with such questions and messages. A message is being circulated these days claims that considering the growing number of cases, India will be going into another lockdown from June 15.

 

The viral message of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter among others also claimed that the complete lockdown will also put a brake on train and flight services. The total number of coronavirus cases in India is 2.87 lakh with a death toll of over 8102.

 

THE FAKE VIRAL MESSAGE ISIndia will go under another lockdown from June 15. Train and flight services to be suspended.

 

The Ministry of Home Affairs had passed the new coronavirus guidelines on May 30 which lifted restrictions on interstate travel. Train services in the country have also begun with new social distancing guidelines in place.

So, is there any merit in the claim being made on social media regarding Is Lockdown to Return from June 15? The Government of India from its official Press Information Bureau Fact Check handle has rejected the claim.

 

Press and Information Bureau (PIB) called the lockdown news as fake and urged people to stay away from such rumors. Business and other Economic activities in the country have resumed from June 1 and there is no merit in the news of another lockdown.

 

PIB has also clarified that there’s a WhatsApp viral message that claims to offer free relief funds of Rs 7500 to each citizen. However, the link given in the message is a Clickbait. “Beware of such Fraudulent websites and WhatsApp forwards.”

The messages and posts about another lockdown from June 15th are FAKE.  people should not forward any unconfirmed news and messages that have the potential to create panic and unnecessary worry in society during this pandemic.
