Rs 187.80 crore transferred to18.78 lakh Bihar Migrant Workers Account
Around 18.78 lakh migrant workers of Bihar stuck in other states have so far been provided financial support under the MMVSY (Mukhya Mantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojna).
An amount of Rs 1,000 is transferred directly in the bank accounts of migrant workers those who apply online from assistance under the Mukhya Mantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojna.
“An amount of Rs 1,000 each was transferred in the bank accounts of approx. 18.78 lakh migrant people by the disaster management department (DMD) after verification of their applications,” Anupam Kumar (sate information and public relations department secretary) said on Sunday.
Thus, a total amount of Rs, 187.80 crore has been transferred in the bank account of 18.78 lakh applicants under the Mukhya Mantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojna, he said.
As per data provided by the information and public relations department, maximum 1.43 lakh migrant workers from Madhubani district, followed by 1.21 lakh from Saran have so far been provided support of Rs of Rs 1000 each under the Mukhya Mantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojna.
More than 1.13 lakh migrant workers who originally hail from Muzzaffarpur district and 1.03 lakh from East Champaran district were also provided financial support under the MMVSY. Less number of payees addressed from smaller district like Sheakhpura, Lakhisarai and Arwal.
Only stranded migrant workers from following district got assistance under the scheme Sheikhpura(11,106), Arwal (11,972) and Lakhisarai (11,506).

As per the data of the total beneficiaries, migrant workers were stuck in NCR of Delhi, Haryana, and Maharashtra is
- Delhi NCR – 3.77 lakh
- Haryana – 2.39 lakh
- Maharashtra – 2.08 lakh
In order to provide social security benefits to migrant workers of the State during the lockdown, Mukhya Mantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojna was launched on April 6 2020 by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with transfer of Rs 10.35 crore in the bank accounts of more than 1.03 lakh stranded workers.
