Private Vehicles Banned in Bihar Patna Coronavirus Latest Update

As masses continue to violate lockdown the State Transport Department on

13, April 2020 prohibited the mobility of private vehicles dispensing without a pass issued

by the jurisdiction. Which will also include Private Vehicles Banned in Bihar for vegetables and groceries.

 

Moreover, passes will be issued to some for commuting to banks, hospitals, offices

and for other crucial works and a log will be maintained in order to record their

movement.

 

Apart from the driver only two other people will be allowed in a car. Besides, it will be

compulsory for each one to wear a mask.

 

According to sources these decisions were taken at a meeting of the Crisis

Management Group whose Chairperson was the chief secretary Deepak Kumar.

District Magistrates and Senior Police Officials of all 38 districts were given a copy of

the instructions.

 

Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (Transport Secretary)said that these measures are taken to

ensure efficient utilisation of the lockdown and social distancing to fight against the

pandemic.

 

“It was observed that though movement of public transport vehicles has stopped but

people are at times seen moving around on their private vehicles without any

emergency purpose. Accordingly, it has now been decided that there will be

complete ban on Private Vehicles Banned in Bihar, except those issued passes by district administration,” said Agarwal.

 

On using private vehicles for vegetables, groceries and milk further Agarwal said“It

was seen that people used to go to distant markets as well for choice purchasing.

However, we must understand that we are facing a pandemic and should curtail our

movement as much as possible during Coronavirus in Bihar.

 

Accordingly, there will be Private Vehicles Banned in Bihar on movement of private vehicles for buying vegetable, milk or groceries, so that people buy such essential items from their nearest markets.”

 

According to sources in the transport department passes for the same are being

issued by a cell in jurisdiction in every district and people can apply for them through

email.

 

Meanwhile, almost 16,000 vehicles have been seized or FIR’s have been filed

against the owners across the state till date for not following the regulations of the

lockdown and around 4 crores have been collected as penalty so far.
