Patna to Be Metropolitan city in coming 10 years: Bihar Minister
Keeping up to the pace of industrial development in Bihar, Patna will be a metropolitan city in the coming 10 years, said Bihar Industry Minister ‘Jai Kumar Singh’, while inaugurating Bihar Pavilion at 38th India International Trade Fair (IITF) on Saturday.
Various schemes have been launched since past two years for industrializing Bihar.
Minister words,
“In the coming 10 years, Patna will be a metropolitan city. All the things available across the world would be made available here in the city. The city would be trustworthy from every aspect and will be a center of attraction. If the pace of development is maintained properly, the result would for surely be seen in coming 10 years”.
Furthermore, an official said,
“A master plan to develop Bihar’s capital Patna as a metropolitan city is likely to be unveiled soon after a long wait of over 30 years.”
On this, Patna’s Urban Development Department’s Principal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena further added,
“The state planning and development board has approved the master plan for Patna. And Patna’s draft master plan will be sent to the state cabinet probably next week for its final approval.”
According to reports,
Last year, Patna’s draft master plan was put in the public domain for suggestions and objections from the over two million residents after the state cabinet finally declared the ‘plan area’ in the proposed master plan for Patna.
As per what Mr Meena said,
“The city ‘Patna’ in future would be spread over 1,167 sq. km against the existing 250 sq km. In city, over 600 sq. km has been marked as urban area. This area includes setting up of two satellite towns to cater to urbanization and population growth in the next two decades.”
The city would most probably includes an area of around 400 sq. km marked as green cover. This has been proposed that over 16{dfad1845c18f3d3d13481ef1637ff593fa537ce96fafe7b10d370006d8ed1e9e} of the total area will be utilized for roads.
The minister Sinha said,
“The state of Bihar is one of the fastest growing states in the country. And various schemes have been launched here in the past two years for industrializing it.”
Discussing things about Bihar Industrial Promotion Policy 2016, minister informed that around 880 proposals have been processed so far till yet.
Likely, under Bihar Startup Policy, 2017, around 5442 online publications got received so far.
“Out of all these applications, around 57 have been worked out till yet and ₹ 1.80 crore has been distributed. If we discuss financial incentive clearances, approximately 243 proposals have been received out of which 201 have been passed”, minister Jai Kumar Singh said.
