Bihar Govt To Deduct 15% Salaries of CM, Ministers & Legislators

Prakash Javadekar said The Cabinet cleared an Ordinance to cut salaries of parliamentarians and ministers,  President Kovind, Vice President Naidu, and the governors also offered to take 30{dfad1845c18f3d3d13481ef1637ff593fa537ce96fafe7b10d370006d8ed1e9e} cut in salaries, for which no ordinance is needed, he said. “Charity begins at home,” Javadekar (Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change) said.

The Bihar state cabinet on Wednesday also passed the government proposal to generate funds to fight with Coronavirus. the Bihar Govt To Deduct 15{dfad1845c18f3d3d13481ef1637ff593fa537ce96fafe7b10d370006d8ed1e9e} Salaries of CM, Ministers & Legislators for one year. The salary of Bihar CM and ministers is Rs40,000 per month.

The cabinet meeting, led by CM Nitish Kumar, decided that the salary deduction of all members of the states bicameral legislature would remain effective for 1 year.

The Members of the Indian Parliament will also have to forfeit a total of Rs 27,000 per month from their constituency allowance and office allowance, according to government orders.

This is besides the 30{dfad1845c18f3d3d13481ef1637ff593fa537ce96fafe7b10d370006d8ed1e9e} cut in the monthly salary of MPs from Rs one lakh to Rs 70,000.

The cabinet also passed the proposal to promote students from class I to XI, excluding class X, of all government school without examinations, as all the school has been closed due to 21 days nationwide lockdown to fight with COVID-19 epidemic.

The state has reported a total of 39 positive cases of COVID-19 in Bihar till now and death due to the coronavirus in Bihar.

In the cabinet meeting government Also decided to made electricity cheaper by 10 paise per unit for Sitamarhi municipal corporation including areas falling under Sitamarhi Nepal Parishad, Dumra Nagar Panchayat and 17 touching ‘majors’ For the 2020-21 financial year,

Bihar Government also decided to give a three-month extension to the Taxation Disputes Resolution Act, 2019, and its accompanying Bihar Taxation Dispute Resolution Rules, 2020.
