He said the silk industry has huge opportunities in Bhagalpur and Munger as Bhagalpuri Silk is famous in all over the world.
Nitish Kumar’s statement come as a large number of migrant workers return to Bihar amid the lockdown. he believes that as the migrant workers from Bihar have made a huge contribution in economies of various states in the country, and with government support, they can turn into valuable assets for their Bihar too.
Bihar Government Will Ensure Work for Returning Migrants Asserting that Bihar has a huge market, Nitish Kumar urged industrialists to set up industry in Bihar and assured them every possible government support.
Directing officials to encourage industrialists for investing in Bihar, Nitish Kumar said “We are a consumer state. We have a very big market Businessmen of the state should consider it. They should set up new industries. setting up industries will generate employment for migrant workers and enhance people’s income” he said.
“We want that people get work here in the state so that they don’t unnecessarily need to go to the other State. We will make arrangements for providing work to everyone in the Bihar. People will be partner in Bihar’s development,” Kumar said. Private companies in other state did not take care of migrant workers from Bihar, he said, adding that it was their responsibility.
Directing officials concerned to carry out a detailed survey of migrant workers living at quarantine centers, Mr. Kumar said the survey would incorporate details such as which kind of job he/she was doing and which kind of work be provided to them so that they don’t need to go other states to earn their livelihoods.
“It is our responsibility that everyone gets an opportunity to work/employment. The state government would extend all possible help to the people who wish to start their own business,” Kumar said, while inspecting quarantine centres through video conferencing.
“All arrangements have been made at quarantine centres for your betterment. Spend 14 days at these centres happily before leaving for your home. Everyone should maintain social-distancing norms as this is the only effective way to deal with the problem of coronavirus,” Nitish Kumar said.
Kumar also interacted with the people living in quarantine centres and inquired about their well-being and also about the facilities being provided to them.
